The highly-anticipated Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) elections did not occur on Sunday (August 11).

It was advertised that the elections would be held on this day, the deadline by which it was supposed to be convened, as ordered by Justice Navindra Singh earlier this year.

However, proceeding never got underway, following the filing of a Stay Order at the Court of Appeal in the names of Anand Sanasie and Anand Kaladeen of the West Demerara Cricket Association and the East Bank Cricket Board.

It is understood that upon learning of the Stay Order being filed, the DCB stakeholders opted to postpone the elections, pending the hearing later this month.
