A suspected bandit was on Saturday shot at Republic Gardens on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD).
According to information received, the incident which occurred at about 08:00hrs.
The News Room understands that the suspect along with an accomplice attacked the unnamed victim who managed to escape.
The victim – a male- contacted the Police who responded promptly and confronted the suspected bandits.
There was an exchange of gun fire resulting in one of the suspects being shot.
He was transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment while his accomplice was arrested.
