Hosted for the first time in 2018, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (GCCI) Business Development Forum has returned for a second time.

The 2019 forum which is to be hosted between September 27 and 28 at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown was launched on Tuesday by GCCI Executives and its partners.

This year, those attending will be asked to pay a registration fee of $7500, a reduction from the $20,000 that was charged last year.

GCCI’s Executive Director Richard Rambarran explained that this is to facilitate and make the forum accessible to as many businesses and persons as possible.

He explained that this year’s event has two main aims both geared at ensuring the growth and sustainability of local businesses but chosen based on the response from last year.

“This year our aim, we have targeted two specific thematic areas. We have targeted finance and investment along the line of projects and project proposal writing,” Rambarran said.

Over the two days, there will be a dozen presenters talking on issues under the broad theme: “Evolve your brand; fuel your finance.”

Some of the presenters include former head of GCCI and business coach Vishnu Doerga, Social Media Marketing Strategist Rosh Khan and Mr Rambarran himself among others.

“$7500 covers quite a lot, it’s an extensive amount of information and you will be given the opportunity to ask questions in and around the field.”

Those who are not members of GCCI and are independent but wants to join the forum are also encouraged to sign up.

GCCI said it is hoped that through this forum, businesses in Guyana will be propelled to another level.

The GCCI continues to lead the charge for improving the economic climate and quality of life in Guyana through policies that stimulate investment and expand economic opportunities for its members.
