Former Policeman charged for stealing 12 dresses

A 28-year-old former Police officer was on Monday charged before City Magistrate Faith McGusty for stealing 12 dresses from his current employer’s Regent Street, Georgetown store and stashing it in his lunch bag.

Lenon Alexander, who is now employed as a security guard, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Police claimed he stole the dresses, worth $60,000, from Sunil Teotia on September 7, 2019.

According to reports, Alexander was exiting the building when he was searched and the dresses were found in his lunch bag.

A further check was carried out on Alexander’s motor car and several pieces of clothing from the store, suspected to be stolen, were found inside

Magistrate McGusty released Alexander on $40,000 bail and adjourned the matter until September 23. The matter was transferred to Magistrate Sherdel Isccas-Marcus.
