Fruta Conquerors U-20 crush Buxton Stars 8-1 in Limacol Football
Fruta Conquerors U-20 footballers continue to impress in the Limacol Football tournament, thrashing Buxton Stars in the latest set of matches on Wednesday evening at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The Tucville-based Conquerors completely outplayed the Stars, storming away with an 8-1 victory. Nicholas McArthur, fresh off a hat-trick in the last game against GFC, was again on target three times, scoring in the 35th, 46th and 87th minutes.
Ryan Hackett (29th and 49th) and Wayne Barker (73rd and 74th) netted doubles, while Dihara Thomas scored in the 84th minute. Buxton Stars got their only strike from Jamali Major in the 63rd minute.
In the other game, GT Panthers needled Pouderoyen 1-0 with Vincent Thomas finding the back of the net in the 13th minutes.
On Monday, Pele FC and Mahaica Determinators recorded wins at the same venue.
Pele trounced Police 5-1 with Derwin George leading a solo effort, scoring all five goals. He netted in the 12th, 31st, 41st, 69th and 88th minutes. Terrence Shepherd had given Police the lead in the 10th minute.
Mahaica Determinators also got their goals from one player, as they got past Dynamics FC 2-0. Eon Abel was the man on target, scoring in the 20th and 65th minutes. The competition will continue on Wednesday evening.
