City Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on Friday remanded a Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara resident who is accused of raping a 14-year-old boy in 2018.
Wazeer Potter was not required to plead to the indictable charge which was read in camera.
It is alleged that Potter on August 8, 2018, he engaged in sexual penetration with a child under the age of 16.
He was remanded to prison until October 1, 2019.
It is alleged that on the day in question, the child was playing when Potter lured him into an abandoned yard and raped him.
The child told his mother about the incident; Potter subsequently went into hiding but was recently arrested by the Police.
