Two killed in fight over cigarettes

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two men who stabbed each other on Friday night.

Dead are 25-year-old Jermain Adrian Jeffery, a labourer of lot 48 Pike Street Kitty, Georgetown and a man who is known as ‘Rastaman.’

Police Headquarters said that at around 21:40hrs, Jeffrey approached a stall at Fifth Street, Alberttown where ‘Rastaman’ was standing and requested to purchase cigarettes, however, his request was denied and they engaged in an argument, which resulted in a scuffle.

Police said they both wounded each other.

According to the Police, Jeffery and ‘Rastaman’ were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The News Room, however, understands that Jeffrey died at the scene holding a knife.
