Teen girl shot in head during robbery at Charity

An 18-year-old girl was shot in her head Monday night after two gunmen invaded her mother’s supermarket at their lot 111 Charity Public Road home on the Essequibo Coast at around 19:20hrs.

The News Room understands that Feiada Mohamed was shot in the right side of her head and was rushed to the Charity Hospital and then transferred to the Suddie Hospital. She was subsequently transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she is undergoing surgery to have the bullet removed.

The businesswoman, Zareeda Mohamed owns and operates the Manzoor’s General Store downstairs of her two-storey house with her daughters.

It is alleged that the two suspects are known to the family.

The News Room understands that one of the gunmen purchased a bottle of water from Feiada’s sister and subsequently held her and another customer at gunpoint.

Reports indicate that the gunmen took the victims upstairs where they bound their hands and duct taped their mouths. Upon leaving, one of the gunmen shot at Feiada.

They escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
