Residents of Diamond on the East Bank of Demerara Tuesday morning chased two armed bandits and apprehended one of them.
A 28-year-old man of Diamond Access Road was robbed of a gold-coloured chain by two armed men, Police Headquarters said in a statement.
After witnessing the robbery, the residents chased after the bandits and managed to recover the gold chain. An unlicensed gun with six live matching rounds were found nearby.
Police applauded the brave and courageous action of the residents.
Police said efforts are being made to apprehend the other suspect.
