Females among five arrested in Police operation

The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Region Four Division on Sunday arrested five persons including two females in connection with the seizure of illegal drugs and weapons.
Police Headquarters in a statement said ranks in the division conducted several cordon and search operations at Vryheid’s Lust, Montrose, Nabacalis and Plaisance on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) between 06:00-08:00hrs.
During the operation, they found an unlicensed pistol with a live matching round, 300 grams of suspected cocaine and 45 grams of suspected cannabis.
A Police Superintendent spearheaded the intelligence-led operations, the statement noted.
