Rawle Toney’s 3×3 Basketball Classic to excite this weekend
The Mackeson/Rawle Toney 3×3 Basketball Classic at the Burnham Basketball Court is set to bring a new level of excitement this weekend, and corporate entities are not missing the opportunity to associate themselves with the tournament.
JD Carn ICT (Guyana) Inc. and Allegiance Cooperation are the two latest establishments to support the event, which will be held on November 9 and 10.
Allegiance Cooperation made a monetary donation of an undisclosed sum, while JD Carn ICT Guyana Inc. presented their company-branded jerseys, which will be worn by the players in the final.
Company Secretary of Allegiance Corporation, Rhonda Roberts, said the company, while new to the market, is happy to be a part of such an initiative, and will continue to offer support in the future.
Ocey Phillips, Country Manager of JD Carn ICT Guyana Inc. told the media the Trinidad and Tobago-based company, which recently set up shop in Guyana, is known for being sports-oriented and this also is their first major event being on board as sponsors.
JD Carn’s business is the delivery of telecommunications and ICT services, using workflows built upon solid project and quality management foundations.
Tournament Coordinator Rawle Toney expressed gratitude to the sponsors for coming on board. Toney has promised to register this tournament on ‘3×3 Planet’ which can be located on the official FIBA site.
Additionally, one thousand dollars (G$1,000), compliments of FireSide Grill N’ Chill, will be awarded to each player who successfully completes a four-point shot.
Within Toney’s Classic, GABA will host a National three-point shootout for which the winner pockets $25,000.
The winning team of the 3×3 classic will get $300,000, while second will take home $100,000 and third $50,000. The Most Valuable Player in the final will receive one basketball sneakers of his choice.
The tournament will employ a round-robin/knockout format.
Chung’s Global Enterprise, the Guyana Lottery Company’s Let’s Bet Sports, Trophy Stall, Kester Gomes’ STUFF and ANSA McAL Trading are the other tournament sponsors.
