Torginol-powered Jeffrey ready for gruelling race weekend

Torginol Paints Brand Ambassador and Guyana’s Motor-Racing ace, Kristian Jeffrey, will have his work cut out from today at the two-day race meet, themed ‘Clash of Champions’ at South Dakota Circuit.

Apart from competition in the Caribbean SR3 Radical Cup Series, where he will face British F4 champion Zane Maloney, he also races his cherished Evo in Group 4.

Combine the two groups, Jeffrey will compete in six races plus two qualifying sessions. It is certainly a tall order, but according to him, he is up for the challenge.

“I got to thank Torginol for coming on board; thanks to them because they made everything possible. Because it is two cars it is a big task ahead. Racing is whether the driver brings it home or the machine.”

With Maloney already pushing lap record times, and the likes of Kristian Boodoosingh, William Myers and  the elder Maloneys, Jeffrey knows he will be under serious pressure, and has brought in the services of his mechanic from England, Richard Mimirk.

“I brought my mechanic and he has been going through the machine and I can say, I feel like home again in the Radicals so I expect to give the frontrunners a run. This is home turf and I am ready for the challenge. So let’s see if we can bring it home.”

He added, “I am always up for any competition, I never put pressure on myself, whether the car is working good or bad, I am going out to drive my heart out.”

Jeffrey again felt the overwhelming support of Torginol has been instrumental and without them he might not be on the track.

“They have been supporting with everything, down to the go-karts. It has been tremendous, so hopefully we paint the track in Torginol.”

Torginol Paints Inc., a member of the Continental Group of Companies, was incorporated in 1960 and manufactures a diversified range of paint and paint-related products for every surface.

The products, branded under Torga and Arbo brand names, carry a wide range of quality items covering decorative, industrial, commercial, furniture and other finishes.

Today will be qualifying for all groups, while Sunday will be three races for each of the respective groups.
