Annandale’s purple patch continues in GuyOil Schools football

Defending champions Annandale Secondary copped their third straight victory in the GuyOil Tradewind Tankers tournament with an impressive 6-0 triumph over Queen’s College at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Annandale, who started with a battling 2-1 win over Bishops’ High then an 8-0 triumph over Cummings Lodge, handed Queen’s College second successive defeat.

It means the Camp Street lads are 1-10 from their last two matches.

A double from Colin Henriques (50th & 62nd), with support from John Roopnarine (14th), Ajaye Sobers (18th), Seon Heywood (36th) and Omari Glasgow (54th) accounted for Annandale’s goals.

Jushawn Bayley with goals in the 51st and 61st minutes saw President’s College continue their winning ways with 2-0 triumph over St. Stanislaus College.

The drawn matches came between Charlestown Secondary and St. John’s College, who could not find additional goals after John Simon (6th) and Kurt Carrington (3rd) scored for their respective teams.

Marian Academy and Cummings Lodge drew 2-2. Daniel Lowe (25th and 51st) netted for Marian, while Malcom Hamer (9th) and Jitzak Matinez (29th) netted for the opposition.

Matches continue Thursday from Charlestown opposing Cummings Lodge from 15:30h and President’s College up against St. John’s College from 17:00h.

On Friday, Annandale will face Marian Academy from 16:00h, while the Bishops’ High and Queen’s College duel is from 16:00h on Saturday, followed by Lodge Secondary and St. Stanislaus College from 17:30h.
