A 33-year-old former Royal Castle supervisor appeared before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan Friday accused of stealing over $19.3M from the fast-food outlet.

Candacy Stewart was slapped with three charges and was released on $100,000 bail on each count.

The three charges alleged that between January 2, 2018, and February 27, 2019, in Georgetown, Stewart while being a clerk at Royal Castle, stole $19,356,313 from her employer.

Stewart was represented by Attorney Dexter Todd, who made an application for bail on the grounds that his client had no knowledge of the missing money since she was only the supervisor.

Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield told the court that during the company’s yearly audit, it was found that over $19.3M was missing.

An investigation traced the missing money to Stewart who was the shift supervisor during that period, the Prosecutor told the court.

The Chief Magistrate released Stewart on a total of $100,000 bail with the condition that she report to the Criminal Investigation fraud department at Brickdam every Friday.

The matter is adjourned to December 5, 2019.
