Ramps Logistics spreads Christmas cheer to orphanages

Children from five orphanages around Georgetown and on the East Coast of Demerara were on Saturday treated to a day of fun and games at the National Park Tarmac, Georgetown.

The ‘Christmas Treat event’ was held by Ramps Logistics, El Dorado Offshore, and Orbis Caribbean under the theme “Santa’s Workshop” between 13:00 and 17:00hrs.

Ramps Logistics in a statement noted that the activities were “the embodiment of every child’s Christmas dream” and it wanted to give back to the local community.

“In this festive season of love, harmony, and gratitude we are excited and proud to give back to the local community in such a heartfelt way. Children carry a spark within them that glows brighter with a touch of love!” the company added.

Over 350 children from the Bosco Boys Home, St. Ann’s Orphanage, Sophia Care Center, Joshua House and other underprivileged families in the area attended the event.

They were treated to face painting, bouncy castles, rock climbing, Christmas themed treats and a visit from Santa Claus himself. Craft stations were also available for the children to partake in activities such as cookie decorating, Christmas cards and ornament making stations.

There were also some staff members and their families who participated in the event, according to the statement.

Other partners in the venture were Nalco Champion, Giftland, Guyana Beverage Inc, Palm Court, Williams Transportation, Blue Waters, Sheriff Security, GTT, radio sensation Casual, Timeka Marshall and Clairant.
