A 22-year-old, Central Rupununi resident was remanded to prison Thursday by the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the alleged rape of an 11-year-old schoolgirl.
Vladimir Lawrence was not required to plead to the charge which alleged that on December 4, 2019, he engaged in sexual penetration with the child.
The matter was heard in camera and was subsequently transferred to the Lethem Magistrate’s Court for December 17, 2019.
