Police coach stabbed to death at D’Urban Park


Police are investigating the murder of Rural Constable Seon Burry, whose bloodied body was found at D’Urban Park, Georgetown just before 6:00hrs Tuesday.

Burry, 28, who was the Police’s athletic coach was found with several stab wounds to the neck in the vicinity of the throat.

The News Room understands that Police were contacted about Burry’s body at around 05:50hrs and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police Headquarters in a statement noted that Burry left his Section A, Field 7, South Sophia home at about 03:30 hrs to train athletes.

“The Guyana Police Force wishes to express its condolences to the immediate family, relatives and friends of the deceased who was very much committed to his field of work and vows to bring the perpetrator(s) of his brutal slaying to justice,” the Police said.

Burry joined the Police Force in July 2015 and is popularly known as “Senestro.”
