A 22-year-old man remanded to prison Wednesday by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.
Sahadeo Pooran, a hire car driver of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison until December 30, 2019.
It is alleged that Pooran raped the child on November 27, 2019.
He was arrested after the child told her mother what happened.
