A fire of unknown origin destroyed a two-story wooden/concrete house early Saturday morning at Lot 12 Fairs Rust, Mckenzie Linden.

The News Room understands that the fire started about 03:00hrs and destroyed the upper flat and everything inside. No one was at home at the time.

The property was owned by Rawle Ramascindo and was being rented by ex-policeman Teon ‘Spolichild’ Allen.

It was reported that when the fire service arrived they had no water to calm the blaze.

Allen is a suspected notorious gang leader and well-known criminal character and has been on the Police’s radar for quite some time.

He was charged in 2017 for harbouring two wanted men who broke out of the Camp Street prison on July 9, 2017.

He was also charged with a series of firearm and ammunition cases, but those matters were later dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

In September this year, he was charged for discharging a firearm with intent to commit murder and was released on $50,000 bail.

A wanted bulletin was issued for him in connection with the attempted murder of Denise Grant and Tiffany McDeth, in Amelia’s Ward, Linden, Region 10 on September 2, 2019.

More recently, on November 26 Allen was shot after ranks of the Guyana Police Force intercepted the car he was in with two other ex-policemen at Rahaman’s turn, Houston East Bank Demerara.
