A male sex worker will be spending the holidays behind bars after he was remanded to prison on a robbery charge Tuesday by City Magistrate Clive Nurse.

Godfrey Cox, 19, of High Street, Georgetown denied that on December 20, 2019, at Charlotte Street, Georgetown while being in the company of others he robbed Noel Trotman of $200,000 cash, a $20,000 cellphone and other items totalling $260,000.

Cox’s attorney, Paul Fung-A-Fat, told the court that his client was standing on Charlotte Street when Trotman approached him and asked if he was working.

However, according to the attorney, Cox said no and Trotman became annoyed.

According to the facts presented by the court prosecutor, on the day in question, Trotman was in his vehicle and slowed down at a cross street in the vicinity of Charlotte Street.

It was alleged that Cox came over to Trotman vehicle and asked if he was doing “business” and placed his hands in the vehicle.

Cox, the prosecutor said, then snatched Trotman’s bag with the items mentioned in the charge and made good his escape.

The matter was reported to the police station and Cox was arrested. He was positively pointed out by the victim during an identification parade.

The Prosecutor objected to the teen being released on bail on the grounds that the defendant has similar matters before the court.

The Magistrate remanded Cox to prison until January 7, 2020.
