Terry Roopnarine, 27 years, was on Monday charged with manslaughter after he stabbed to death a man after a game of “Chic Chic” turned ugly on Christmas Eve.
Roopnarine, a labourer of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Whim Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him; he was not required to plead to the indictable charge but was granted bail in the sum of $200,000 with conditions attached.
He was accused of killing Steven ‘Shabba’ Lewis.
Reports are that Lewis, 27, of Portuguese Quarters, was stabbed to death on Christmas Eve after the game of “Chic Chic” turned into a fight.
Lewis received injuries to his head and mouth.
