A destitute identified as ‘Tyron,’ was stabbed to death on Friday night after a fight erupted between him and another man over who should sleep where.
According to information received, the men have no fixed place of abode and would sleep on stalls at the Number 79 Village market, Corentyne, Berbice.
Between 21:50hrs on Friday and 1:00hr Saturday, the men began arguing over who should occupy an empty stall and a fight ensued.
As the fight escalated, ‘Tyron’ was stabbed to the chest. He collapsed and was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have taken two persons in custody as investigation continues.
