Man found dead in Aracari Resort listened to a lot of ‘depressing’ music – mother
Police are awaiting a post mortem examination Wednesday to determine how a man and woman died in the bathtub of the popular Aracari Resort at Versailles, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
The couple was discovered Sunday motionless in a bathtub in the room they rented at the hotel.
They have been identified as 26-year-old Kevin Singh and his girlfriend, Sabrina Nandram.
Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean, earlier told the News Room that bodies showed no sign of violence.
Singh of Triumph, East Coast Demerara was a driver at the La Bonne Intention sugar estate. His mother, 57-year-old Kuntie Tekchand, told the News Room that, Kevin told her he was going to buy a car on Saturday.
“I just came from (a political rally) and my nephew come and tell me that Kevin get into accident so I think is accident but when I go it wasn’t an accident,” the grieving mother said.
The single mother of three said she raised her children the best she could and never imagined that something like this would happen.
“I grow them as a single parent and I work and tried to please them the best I could.”
She said Kevin listened to a lot of music she described as depressing. She recalled him saying he liked to listen to those songs.
Meanwhile, Kevin’s brother, Gavin Singh, said the family is still in shock about what happened. The brother said he was not aware that Kevin had any problems with anyone or in his relationship.
Kevin’s family said they did not know the other victim, Sabrina Nandram, and the News Room was not able to make contact with her family.
Police said the couple checked into the hotel about 15:38hrs Saturday and was scheduled to check out at 12 noon on Sunday.
However, Commander McBean said that the male made arrangements for a longer stay at the hotel.
When hotel management called the room and got no response, they did not suspect anything was amiss.
Two hours later, after no response from the couple, they discovered the motionless bodies in the bathtub.
