Guyana’s top female badminton player Priyanna Ramdhani continued from where she left off in 2019, copping a silver medal in her first tournament of 2020.

Playing in the Honolulu Open A Division tournament in Hawaii, USA, from January 3-5, Ramdhani made it to the final, but lost to Eyota Kwan 13-21, 10-21.

“This is a great start for her beginning the year on a positive note and keeping her consistency going as in the past years,” the Guyana Badminton Association said.

“Priyanna departed Canada (where she’s on scholarship) on her birthday (January 2, 2020) to attend this tournament and her training during the holidays paid off with her being able to compete in the Senior Division and medal although still a junior player.”

Priyanna’s passage to the final was made possible through victories at the round-robin phase against Rachel Cheung (21-11, 21-13) and Samatha Hsu (21-15, 21-17).
