A 48-year-old businessman was on Friday night killed infront of his Parcel 61 Queenstown, Essequibo Coast home.
Four suspects have since been arrested and are in custody assisting with the investigation.
According to a statement from police headquarters, Shawn Mannilall called Papersman and his family were about to enter their home when they were confronted by two masked men at about 20:00hrs.
The men were wearing helmets and armed with a handgun and a cutlass.
Police said the firearm was discharged hitting Mannilall to his chest, shoulder and right side abdomen causing him to collapse after which the men fled the scene.
Munnilall was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is currently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
