    Men, teen in daring daylight robbery remanded

    Two men and a teenager who were caught on camera carrying out a daring daylight robbery on a man and then riding away on his motorcycle were on Monday hauled before the Georgetown Magistrates Court.

    Jose Bristol, 27 and Jamal Braithwaite, 24, appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus and denied the charge; Police claimed that on December 29, 2019, at Campbell Avenue, Georgetown, they robbed Michael Cox of his motorcycle, a phone, and a hanging bag along with cash totalling $702,500. The duo denied the charge.

    The teen appeared before the Children’s Court and was remanded into the custody of the Juvenile Holding Center. The teen denied the charge.

    The team will return to court on February 3, 2020.

    According to reports, Bristol and Cox are known to each other. It is alleged that Cox was trying to sell Bristol a cellphone.

    It is alleged that Bristol came to the location along with two other men in his motor car.  Cox was at the time sitting on his motorcycle awaiting Bristol’s arrival.

    The men went up to Cox and choked him. They took away his motorcycle and valuables.

    The men made good their escape and the incident was caught on camera and was circulated on Facebook.

    An investigation was launch which led to the arrest of the three defendants.
