Wakenaam man sets wife on fire then hangs self
Dead: Rai Rabindranauth Harinarine
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Wakenaam man who on Saturday afternoon set his wife on fire before committing suicide.
The News Room understands that Rai Rabindranauth Harinarine known as ‘Fineman’ poured gasoline on his wife before setting her alight at their Friendship, Wakenaam Island, Region Three home at about 17:00hrs on Saturday.
The woman is admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where she is receiving treatment.
