Police are investigating the murder of a 24-year-old fisherman of Coldingen, East Coast Demerara (ECD) who was found with several stab wounds about his body on Saturday night.
Dead is Mukesh Mangra known as ‘Paul’.
His mother, Barbara Mangra told the News Room that she was informed by her neighbour at around18:30hrs that her son was lying on the dam.
When she got to the location, he was already dead.
“When me meet, me see where he deh on the dam lay down and took my hand and put it on he chest, me say he dead,” the grieving mother told the News Room.
Police found a blue handle knife about fifty feet from the body.
Mukesh was the woman’s youngest son who left for sea on January 11 and had recently returned home.
The mother believes his crew members are aware of what occurred.
The News Room understands that one person is in Police custody.
