Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 18-year-old Wayne Anthony George, whose body was found in a trench early Tuesday with injuries to the head.

The News Room understands that the teenager’s body was found clad in a brown camouflage pants in a trench at Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD) at about 07:40hrs Tuesday. A cutlass and bicycle were also found in close proximity to the body.

Regional Commander, Senior Superintendent Kurleigh Simon told the News Room that the teen was last seen alive by his mother at 22:30hrs Monday night when he left his Kaneville, EBD home.

“The body bore marks of violence to his lips and behind his head; blood was oozing from his nose and the wound from his head,” the Commander said.

The Commander explained that according to the mother, the teenager was involved in a confrontation with some persons from Kaneville on Monday night.

“He was involved in a confrontation, as a result, he went home and told his mother of the confrontation and he left shortly and went back on the road,” the Commander said.

    Investigations are ongoing.
