A 47-year-old employee of the Ministry of Public Health is counting his losses after thieves broke into his 3-4 Area D North Sophia home while he was at work on Thursday.
Shivnandan Geer told the News Room that his neighbour contacted him at the Ministry at around 13:00hrs and informed him that two men exited his house with two bags full of items.
The neighbours told Geer that the thieves utilized a white Axio car – HC 1502 -with the Green Ice taxi logo on it.
When he arrived home, Geer observed that his house was severely ransacked and his 155 inch LG TV, a DVR recorder, $400,000 in cash, a laptop and two remotes were missing.
The thieves managed to gain entry by breaking the back door of the house.
Geer is unhappy with the response of the Police at the Turkeyen Police Station, who hours later, is still to show up at the house to conduct investigations.
Geer told the News Room that he sent a taxi to the Police Station to pick up the Police after they told him they had no transportation but the taxi returned empty and the driver told Geer that the ranks refused to leave the Police Station.
This is the tenth time Geer has been robbed since 2015; he was robbed at gunpoint in October 2019 in front of his house.
