Guyana is set to play Barbados on March 26 and 31 as the country seeks to qualify for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.

The first match of the two-round qualifier is scheduled for Barbados from 19:00h, while Guyana will be looking to exploit home advantage in the final match scheduled for the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora, from 20:00h.

This was confirmed by Concacaf even as the Senior Men’s National Team, commonly referred to as the ‘Golden Jaguars’, has been engaged in preparation for the fixture.

Guyana will face off with Barbados as a result of being second in the group qualifiers (Group C, League B) behind Jamaica and Barbados having won their group (Group A, League C).

According to the tournament rules, the winner of this match will play the winner of League A, Group C, Trinidad and Tobago, during the June FIFA International window with the victor ultimately qualifying for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.

To date, 12 nations have qualified for the tournament including Canada, Costa Rica, Curacao, El Salvador, Grenada, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Suriname and the United States.
