Third Magnum Mash Futsal Cup kicks off tonight

The Magnum Futsal Mash Cup returns for its third year and according to Tournament Coordinator, Esan Griffith, fans can expect keen and intense rivalry from the top 24 futsal teams in Guyana at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

The tournament was officially launched on Friday at the Windjammer International Hotel where Griffith, along with players, spoke of their commitment of producing an action-packed tournament starting today (January 25).

The competing teams will be divided into six groups of four, with the top two finishers as well as the best four third placed teams advancing to the knockout round.

The remaining playing dates are Tuesday January 28, Thursday January 30, Saturday February 1, Tuesday February 4, Thursday February 6 [Round of 16], Saturday February 8 [Quarter-finals], Saturday February [Semi-finals] and Saturday February 22 [Final].

Group-A: Back Circle, Sparta Boss, Ansa McAl All-Stars and Bad-A-Yard.

Group-B: Rio All-Stars, Leopold Street, Spartacus and Melanie.

Group-C: Future Stars, Alexander Village, Spot-7 and Mocha.

Group-D: Bent Street, Showstoppers, North East La Penitence and Avocado Ballers.

Group-E: Sophia, Broad StreetKingston and Island All-Stars.

Group-F: Gold is Money, Albouystown, Stabroek Ballers and Belfield Warriors.

Winner of the event will pocket $600,000 and the championship trophy, while the second place side will collect $400,000 and the respective accolade. On the other hand, the third and fourth place unit will receive $200,000 and $100,000 respectively and the corresponding trophy.
