A 49-year-old driver was on Wednesday charged with engaging in sexual activity with a 12-year-old girl.
Orlando Fraser of Pike Street, Kitty was not required to plead to the indictable charge which was read to him by the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Particulars of the charge alleged that on June 10, 2019, Fraser forced himself on the child and raped her.
The child confided in her schoolteacher and a report was lodged with the Police.
Attorney-at-law Barnard DaSliva argued for bail which was granted in the sum of $270,000.
The matter is adjourned to February 3, 2020.
