Soesdyke labourer stabbed to death
Police are investigating the murder of 44-year-old Winford Jacob who was stabbed to death at around 02:30hrs Sunday on the Soesdyke Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Police Headquarters revealed that Jacob, a labourer of Bonking Sand road, Soesdyke and Blueberry Hill, Linden, was walking with the suspect and the suspect’s “childmother” after imbibing.
It is alleged that an argument ensued between Jacob and the suspect which subsequently turned physical during which Jacob attacked the suspect with a bottle.
Police said that the suspect, who was armed with a knife, then stabbed Jacob twice about the body.
Jacob collapsed on the side of the road and was later found by a passerby who rushed him to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect is in Police custody.
