After three days of riveting Table Tennis action at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Christopher Franklin and Natalie Cummings emerged senior national champions on Sunday evening.

Once again the match brought the teacher and his student together, and Franklin, just like he did in 2018, edged Britton on the key moments.

In a match that pitted arguably Guyana’s top two male players, Franklin won the grueling contest 3-2 (11-6, 11-6, 10-12, 11-7, 7-11).

Franklin defeated Joel Alleyne 4-1 in the semi-final, while Britton won 4-0 against Nigel Bryan.

The Women’s title was contested on a round-robin basis, with Cummings not dropping a set in her triumphant run.

Second to her was Thuraia Thomas, followed by Crystal Melville and nine-year-old Under-21 champion, Jasmin Billingy.

The Male Under-21 division went to Elishaba Johnson, who defeated Jonathan Van Lange in an intense six-game match. Johnson won 11-7, 11-5, 11-5, 11-8, 11-8, 13-11.

Van Lange got his revenge on Johnson in the ‘B’ Class Open final, winning 11-5, 11-9, 10-12, 11-13, 11-5 and 11-8. The ‘C’ Class title went to Kyle Chung, who topped Troy McRae 3-2 (11-9, 8-11, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9).
