    East Coast and Georgetown recorded victories on the opening day of the Inter-Association Under-15 tournament in Demerara.

    East Coast defeated East Bank by nine wickets at Lusignan and Georgetown got the better of West Demerara by 42 runs at the Everest ground.

    Below are the summarised scores.

    At Lusignan: East Bank 43 all out in 32.3 overs (Sachin James 8; Alex Datterdeen Nicholas Shiopersaud and Sahil Gangaram had two wickets each) vs East Coast 44-1 (Josh Alves 23*)

    At Everest: Georgetown 177-9 from 50 overs (Romel Deonarine 49, Ryan Latif 49, John Persaud 19, Neamiah Singh 3-25, Jeremiah Singh 3-31) vs West Demerara 135-3 from 50 overs (Sachin Balgobin 34, Nityanand Natura 32, Rezekie Renee 18, Riyad Latif 1-18)

    The second round of matches will take place on Wednesday (February 5) with East Coast playing Georgetown at Lusignan and East Bank facing West Demerara at Everest.

    Both matches will start at 09:00h.
