Jaguars dismiss Scorpions for 187 on day one

Jamaica Scorpions were dismissed for 187 on day one of the fourth round Regional Four-day game against reigning champions Guyana Jaguars at Providence on Thursday.

Scorpions initially slipped to 48-3, but recovered to 122, before losing their last seven wickets for 65 runs.

Former Test batsman Jermaine Blackwood made 81 and Nkrumah Bonner 29. Bowling for Jaguars, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul claimed 4-34 off 21.5 overs, Christopher Barnwell 2-16 and Nial Smith 2-50.

Kevin Sinclair and Raymon Reifer picked up a wicket apiece. By stumps, Jaguars, who left out Devendra Bishoo and Tevin Imlach, reached 17 without loss with Chandrapaul Hemraj on 13 and Tagenarine Chanderpaul on four.
