The Bounty Farm Limited’s 2020 Handicap Squash tournament began on Wednesday evening at the usual venue, the Georgetown Club, with 13 matches in Category A and the Open Category.
It was a night full of upsets in Category A as both of the top seeded players were beaten. Shiloh Asregado lost in straight games to Kassie Walcott 15-8, 15-9, while Joshua Verwey was beaten by Grant Fernandes 15-1, 15-4.
In two other matches, which went all the way down to the wire, Tiana Gomes beat Rylee Rodrigues 15-8, 11-15, 15-14 and Lajuan Munroe defeated Brenno DaSilva 11-15, 15-12, 15-14.
In the Open category, there were comfortable wins for Abosaide Cadogan, who beat Tian Edwards 15-12, 15-14; Louis Da Silva cruised past Ian Mekdeci 15-2, 15-10 and Zachary Persaud proved to be too good for Lydia Fraser, winning 15-2, 15-9.
