Police are investigating a hit and run accident which occurred on Friday, February 14 and claimed the life of 17-year-old Kwon Trotz, a labourer of Farm, East Bank Essequibo.
The accident occurred on Farm Public Road at about 23:00hrs.
Police Headquarters stated that Trotz was walking east along the northern side of the road and was a short distance from his home when he was struck down by a motorcar which was said to be speeding.
After hitting the teen, the driver fled the scene.
Trotz was rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said the vehicle number and type is unknown but it is believed to be silver grey in colour.
