U-15 Inter-County: Ramnauth’s 94 highlights opening round
A Man-of-the-Match knock of 94 from captain Rampertab Ramnauth led Berbice to a comprehensive 206-run victory over President’s XI in the opening round of the Dave West Indian Imports and Exports’ Inter-County Under-15 tournament at Georgetown Cricket Club on Sunday.
The left-handed batsman cracked 10 fours and two maximums from the 98 balls faced, which was the pillar of Berbice pilling on 286-4 from their allotment of 50 overs. In response, President’s XI folded for 80 all out in 39.2 overs; 21 runs came in extras.
Rampertab and Avishkar Persud put on 179 for the opening stand, with Persaud making a patient 66 from 108 balls in which he struck five fours. Rashaad Gafur (30) and Sanjay Algoo with his run-a-ball 29 (3x4s) added the late impetus.
