Lusignan Sports Club emerged with a comprehensive 64-run win over Enmore on Sunday night to lift the Banks Beer 100-Ball title for the second year in a row at the Enmore Community Centre ground.

The victory means Lusignan turned the table on the hosts, who won the SPR Enterprise 40-over title the last time these two sides met in a final a month ago.

Lusignan, batting first under floodlights, racked up an imposing 150-6 and then made some telling early blows with the ball, eventually dismissing Enmore for 86 to silence a massive crowd, predominantly supporting the home team.

Opener Robin Williams, who won the Man-of-the-Match award, gave Lusignan an electrifying start, blazing to a topscore of 44, an innings that included five sixes and two fours.

Gavin Boodwah chipped in with 31 (2x4s, 2x6s), Somnauth Bharrat 20 (2x4s, 1×6) and Kumar Bishundial 17 (2x6s). Bowling for Enmore, the spin trio Satesh Jainarine (2-16), Christopher Surat (2-26) and Yuvraj Dayal (1-29) were the wicket-takers.

In the run-chase, half of Enmore’s batting was dislodged with just 51 runs on the board as Lusignan’s bowlers struck at regular intervals. New-ball pair Jagdesh Dowlatram (2-14) and Vickram Doodnauth (2-15) did the early damage, before Chanderpaul Ramraj claimed 2-0 and Williams 1-19.

Rudolph Singh (17) and Surat (15) were the leading scorers for Enmore.

In the third place playoff, a high-scoring affair, Strathavon pipped Lusignan East by one run. Sewchand Budhu’s 89 and Gobinram Hemraj’s 57 led Strathavon to 181-3, and despite 77 from Hardeo Jailall, Lusignan East fell short.
