Seasoned all-rounder Rayad Emrit is set to make a return to his beloved Guyana for the Golden Republic T20 Bash on Friday at the National Stadium, Providence. The man from Trinidad says is he coming to give his best.

Through playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors in three seasons of the Caribbean Premier League, the Trinidadian has developed a special and colourful relationship with fans here.

It is a return which is most close to his heart, he told News Room Sport on Tuesday.

“Like I’ve said before Guyana is very close to my heart and I’m very much excited to be back to play in this special game for their Golden Republic.”

With 85 wickets in 74 CPL matches, Emrit is strong on experience, especially since he will be lining up against fellow Trinidadian Lendl Simmons.

“Definitely I will be trying my best to give the fans a good showing. I can tell you the game will be very competitive because the teams are very good teams.”

The match is being held in observance of Guyana’s 50th year as a Republic.

In wishing Guyanese a happy Republic, Emrit called on fans to come out and witness what he anticipates to be a good contest.
