An afternoon family outing turned tragic after a three-year-old girl drowned at the Pegasus Hotel pool in Kingston, Georgetown Monday.
The little girl has been identified as Anastacia Joseph of Prashad Nagar in Georgetown. She was at the pool with her mother.
Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Egdar Thomas told the News Room the incident occurred at about 15:30hrs.
“According to information, the mother claimed that she left to go to the washroom and when she returned the child was under the water,” the Commander said.
The little girl was rushed to the St Joseph Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigations are ongoing.
