Sophia teen killed in accident
A Sophia, Greater Georgetown teen was killed early Monday after the motorcycle he was on collided with motor car HC 3094 at around 02:30hrs on Dennis Street, Sophia.
Dead is 15-year-old Isaiah Cordis of Dennis Street, Sophia; he was the pillion rider.
The News Room understands that the motorcycle CK 2209, which was being ridden by a 23-year-old, was proceeding east along the northern side of the road at a fast rate when it crashed into the right side of the car.
The rider alleged that he was about to overtake the car when it suddenly turned south into his path, causing him to lose control and crash.
As a result of the collision, both Cordis and the rider fell onto the road and received injuries about their bodies.
They were both taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where Cordis subsequently succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
The two drivers passed a breathalyzer test.
