Trans Guyana Airways is treating the COVID-19 pandemic with the utmost importance and we are ensuring that we put the appropriate precautions in place to protect our customers, employees and community.

Your safety will remain, as it has always been, our top priority as this situation continues to evolve.

All of our employees have the security of knowing that they will not have to worry about their income should they require to be quarantined and/or receive medical attention due to a concern of Coronavirus (COVID-19). They know we are here to support them in their duty to protect themselves and those around them.

 Consultation with Professionals – We are constantly consulting with international and national health experts (United States’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, International Civil Aviation Organization, Ministry of Health, Caribbean Surgery Inc. and more) to stay abreast of the most current information on how to minimize any threat associated from this virus.

 Staff awareness – Every employee must undergo a mandatory virus awareness/sensitization session given by Trans Guyana Airways’ Occupational Health and Safety Department.

 Promotion of health etiquette – We promote regular handwashing and healthy hygiene among employees and passengers through regular communications which include signage and posters around our facility.

 Employee Screening – All employees will be checked for a high temperature with a scanner when arriving to our facility. Employees with a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and over will be asked to return home and self-quarantine. The Ministry of Health hotline (227-4986 or 624-3067) will be called immediately.

Facilities Cleaning – We’ve made additional sanitizers and cleaning supplies available for use for employees and our cleaning staff have been trained and will proceed to clean all surfaces regularly. Additionally, all company vehicles undergo rigorous cleaning and disinfecting after each pick up.

  • Aircraft cleaning – Our aircraft are cleaned and disinfected before every flight. Every night they receive more in-depth treatment to prepare for the next day’s services.
  • Passenger Pre-flight screening – All passengers will be screened to make sure that those who may display flu like symptoms can be identified. This screening will include checking for high temperatures using a scanner with passengers who have a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and over being denied boarding.
  • Rescheduling & Cancellation Fees – Passengers who are denied boarding because of health concerns will be refunded their fare or given the opportunity to reschedule their travel plans without charge. Passengers who choose to cancel their reservations between 0 and 48 hours prior to flight will be subject to our cancellation policy but TGA will waive the admin/change fee. Passengers who wish to make changes to reservation and have booked through an agent must contact their agents to make necessary changes.
  • Travel restrictions – Trans Guyana Airways is implementing travel restrictions based on advisories from our local authorities and health agencies across the region. We will continue to keep you informed and provide support as the situation continues to evolve. We are all in this together.
