The career of all-rounder Kevin Sinclair took another leap this week with Jacobs Jewellery and Pawn Shop signing the Guyana Jaguars all-rounder as its Brand Ambassador.

The Pike Street, Kitty, Georgetown, business is owned and operated by former national cricketer Steven Jacobs, who boasts similar characteristics as Sinclair, being a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner.

Jacobs, a former West Indies Under-19 captain and senior Guyana player, said he is looking forward to playing a major role in the development of Sinclair, both on and off the field.

Jacobs spoke of the obvious talent and potential of the 20-year-old, urging the Berbician to remain discipline and be reminded that hard work is the key for success in sports.

Sinclair, moments after signing on as the Brand Ambassador, said, “I must thank Jacobs Jewellery and Pawn Shop for making me their Brand Ambassador and moreso pushing me to the forefront to be big in the sport one day. I must urge other businesses to come on board and take example from Jacobs Jewellery and Pawn Shop to sponsor other youngsters, not just me alone, so that Guyana in the future could be one of the top cricketing nations in the world.”

After consistent performances at the youth level for Guyana, Sinclair’s senior career kicked off in the Regional Super50 last season, playing a crucial role in West Indies Emerging Players winning the tournament. He picked up 13 wickets at an economy rate of 2.87, the best in the tournament, and made 132 runs.

He was subsequently handed a First-Class debut by the Guyana Jaguars. In six matches to date, he has picked up 12 wickets at 27.25 and scored 130 runs with a highest of 43 on debut.

Just last week, Sinclair was signed as one of the Emerging Players for the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the Hero Caribbean Premier League 2020.
