All available players, including Chris Gayle, are under consideration to be part of the West Indies squad to play in the Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

That’s according to Cricket West Indies Chief Selector Roger Harper, speaking on Barbados radio programme ‘Mason and Guest’, hosted by cricket commentator and analyst Andrew Mason.

West Indies, two-time winners of the tournament, are the defending champions.

Responding to Mason’s question if there’s room for Gayle in the West Indies World Cup squad, Harper said: “I think all available players are part of our plan at this point.”

“At this point we’re still trying to find out what’s our best combination, what the composition of the team will be and seeking opportunities to determine that.”

Many believe a full strength West Indies squad can win the World Cup, with the likes of T20 globetrotters Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo and Gayle being the senior men alongside rising stars such as Nicholas Pooran, Fabian Allen and Sheldon Cottrell.
