A man is in Police custody after he reportedly stabbed his ex-lover and her new spouse to death at the woman’s 177 Prosville, Wismar, Linden home on Wednesday night.
Dead are 49-year-old Imogeme Gordon and Royston John; John is believed to be from Corentyne, Berbice.
Regional Commander Hugh Winter told the News Room that the bodies of the couple were discovered with multiple stab wounds to the chest area by Police who were called to the scene. He said the incident occurred at around 20:30hrs.
He noted that details surrounding the incident are not clear since the area was poorly lit and there are no eyewitnesses at this time, however, the Commander said the suspect and the woman shared a relationship some time ago but separated.
The suspect was caught a short distance away at around 07:30hrs on Thursday.
An investigation is ongoing.
