Coronavirus: Banking hours reduced


As a precautionary measure to protect staff and customers from the spread of COVID-19, the Bank of Guyana has approved amendments to business hours.

Effective Monday, March 23 to Friday, April 3, 2020, banking hours will be 8:00am to 12:00 noon.

A notice from the Bank of Guyana noted that “this is a temporary measure with potential for an extended period contingent on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The measure applies to Republic Bank, Scotiabank, Citizens Bank, GBTI, Demerara Bank, NBS, Hand-in-Hand Trust, Bank of Baroda and Guyana Americas Merchant Bank.
