Former Attorney General Anil Nandlall says he is mourning the loss of his driver who committed suicide early Saturday at Prashad Nagar, Georgetown.

In a Facebook post, Nandlall described Reaaz Holladar as a “loyal and dedicated employee.”

“It is with profound sadness that I confirmed that Reaaz Holladar, my driver for several years, died this morning at or about 4:00 am.

“From all indications, he committed suicide. He was a loyal and dedicated employee. He has left to mourn a wife and two sons. With his family, I mourn his loss.”

The News Room understands that Holladar and his wife were arguing in the parking lot of his house when he committed the act. The security guard was also present.

Police Commander Senior Superintendent Phillip Azore told the News Room that investigators are reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.

Hollader rose to prominence after he obtained an injunction from the High Court blocking the announcement of an overall winner of the March 02 elections once it included the unverified vote count of the votes cast.

Nandlall, with support from the Opposition People’s Progressive Party, was representing Hollader in the court case.
